COE Profile - Ira S. Rosenbloom
Chief Operating Executive
Ira S. Rosenbloom, CPA, is the chief operating executive of Optimum
Strategies, LLC, a consulting firm focused on helping accounting firms implement
successful business development and practice management programs which maximize
their growth and financial performance potential.
With more than 25 years of experience as a public accountant, Ira has the unique perspective of someone who has achieved success as both an entrepreneur leading a mid-size accounting firm and as a practice director in the corporate environment of a top-20 firm. Using lessons learned from the front lines and interior offices, his client focus now is as it was then: to help closely held, middle-market companies achieve their financial, strategic, and operational goals.
A dynamic, results-oriented professional, Ira is recognized for his ability to motivate internally and externally for strong bottom line results. For more than 10 years, Ira consistently developed $750k - $1.5M of new business each year. As managing member of a highly profitable, 50-person firm, he tripled sales volume during his 15-year tenure; introduced several new lines of service; effectively negotiated the retirement of four founding members; and ultimately positioned the practice for merger and oversaw its successful integration with a top regional firm. In the combined firm, Ira was responsible for the marketing, sales, and recruiting efforts of a $20M practice area focused on closely held businesses. There, he successfully instituted effective new practice development programs to foster relationships with prospective clients and referral sources.
Ira’s CPA firm career path provides a perspective which stimulates strong interest in his speaking and writing. He has presented to industry associations as well as state and national societies. Ira is a long time member of the editorial board of CPA Practice Management Forum and is a contributor to Accounting Today. Licensed in both New York and New Jersey, Ira served with distinction on AICPA’s prestigious Management of an Accounting Practice Committee. Ira has served as a Trustee of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and has directed many initiatives for local chapters.
Now as a sought-after strategic adviser to small and medium sized accounting firms, Ira shares his strengths in practice management, managing partner effectiveness, business intelligence processes, practice enhancement, next generation leadership development and merger readiness. Ira distinguishes himself in mergers and acquisitions consulting by serving as the CEO of the Mid-Atlantic Region of Accounting Transition Advisors (www.transitionadvisors.com), national M&A specialists.
Ira graduated cum laude from New York University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, and received his Master of Science degree in Accounting with honors from Northeastern University.
